Buckman students give the bass zebra stripes

Our bass, baritone and one tenor were built by Fred King of Fredtronics (Buckman parent) and purchased by the Buckman Parent Teachers Association and the First Octave Foundation. Our bass stand was built by Mark Ulanowicz, another Buckman parent. Other stands were built by Jon Baker. Other volunteers and supporters are Sara Taggart (grant writer and Buckman parent) and Anna Rockhill (Buckman parent) Regina Pirrucello (Buckman Music Teacher), and Mr. Vestal (Buckman teacher).

Some of our instruments were donated by members of the Northwest Zimbabwean Music Community:

  • Lynne Duddy & Lawrence Howard of Wood Vibrations Marimba Band
  • Richard Stein, formerly of White Rhino Marimba Band
  • Jeff Powers and Jill Nave, formerly of Flying Safari Ants Marimba Band, and Marysville Elementary Marimba Ensemble
  • Doug Ward from Hood River
  • Larry and Andrea Goss, formerly of Chiremba Marimba Band
  • Claire Jones from Seattle, formerly of Dumi and the Maraire Marimba Ensemble
  • Dale Sherbourne, formerly of Boka Marimba
